The Law 法

In the beginning was the Thought 
The Thought did not become flesh 
but became the Word 
and in violence made its dwelling among us 

初めに念があった
念は肉ではなく
言（こと）となった
暴力に因って（よって）わたしたちの間に宿られた

The Word 
thrown onto clay 
shaped into the Sentence 
and from there, to the Item 
the Item to the Clause 
the Clause to the Article 
the Article to the Act 
this composition of Thought 
a chimera given form 

この言
操られて
文に成り
文から号
号から項
項から条
条から法
念の最終形
造形された怪物

Whole 
and yet porous 
waiting to be fleshed out 
or amended 
appended 
repealed 
or redacted 
with more Thought 
more Word 

完成した
さりとてしなやか
肉付けや
付加
改正
撤廃
黒塗りを待っている
念によって
言によって

Such was brought into the world 
but though the world was made through it 
the world would not recognise it 

法は世にあった
世は法によって成ったが
世は法を認めなかった

For form alone does not command 
It lacks teeth 

何故ならば
体のないものは
効力にかけるものだ

So the prophets came to you 
and told you that this is sacred 
and you fucking fell for it 
Hence in its name 
you enforce the Word 
and all that comes after 
down to the last Letter 

だから預言者が迫ってきた
法は聖なりと説教した
そして、オマエが信じた
その名において
言のみならず
法を施行している
文言（ぶんげん）に固執している

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done 
On earth, as it is in heaven 
Against the poor and the heretics 
till their blood runs dry 
because resistance is futile 
(so they preach) 
And as long as you continue to exalt the Word 
so the bloodshed continues 
because you’re a fucking drone 
who cannot conceive that 
reforms are no more than concessions of power 
that they don’t want you to have 
So wake the fuck up 
and compose something new 
for ever and ever

御国を来たらせたまえ
みこころの天になるごとく
貧困者や異端者の
血が涸れるまで
抵抗は無意味だから
（そう説教される） 
そしてあなたが法を賛美する限り
殺傷も続く
まだ把握していない
カルト信者だ
改革は力の妥協に他ならぬ
本物は渡してくれないものだ
目を覚ましなさい
新しいものを作りなさい
永遠にあなたのものだ
